Essential Evacuation Procedures for Your Safety at The Grand Venezia

At The Grand Venezia, your safety is their priority. Emergencies such as natural disasters, fires, gas leaks, terrorist threats, or incidents in the workplace can occur without warning. It’s crucial that everyone in our community understands the evacuation procedures designed to keep you safe and ensure a coordinated response during any crisis.

Purpose

The purpose of these evacuation procedures is to provide clear, actionable steps for all residents and team members during an emergency. Whether facing a natural disaster or another urgent situation, knowing the proper course of action can help protect lives and minimize risks to both people and property.

Policy Overview

  • Understanding the Evacuation Plan:
All residents and designated team members should familiarize themselves with the evacuation plan. This includes knowing:
    • The designated evacuation routes and exits.
    • The locations of critical utilities.
    • Where to assemble during an emergency, both indoors and outdoors.
    • The key personnel responsible for managing post-evacuation tasks (such as the Evacuation Coordinator and those overseeing critical shutdowns).
  • Following Directives:
It is imperative to follow the instructions given by supervisors and emergency services personnel during an evacuation. Adhering to these directives ensures that everyone can exit safely and that necessary measures are implemented efficiently.

Evacuation Procedures

In the Event of an Emergency or Natural Disaster:

  1. Stay Calm & Activate the Alarm:
As soon as an emergency is recognized, remain calm and activate the alarm system if applicable.
  2. Stop All Activities & Proceed to the Nearest Exit:
Immediately cease any ongoing tasks and head to the closest emergency exit.
  3. Assist Those in Need:
Offer help to individuals with disabilities or any special needs to ensure everyone can evacuate safely.
  4. Follow the Designated Evacuation Route:
Use the marked evacuation path to reach the designated assembly area:
    • Outdoor Assembly Area: In front of the Clubhouse.
    • Indoor Assembly Area: A secure interior room at the Clubhouse with few or no windows.
  5. Listen for Instructions:
Pay close attention to the directives from the Evacuation Coordinator or designated management personnel. Key contacts include:
    • Primary Coordinator: John Del Rio
    • Alternate Coordinator: Robert Barnes DM
  6. Critical Operations Monitoring:
Designated team members will remain behind to safely shut down or monitor essential operations. They will assess the situation and evacuate when it becomes safe to do so.

At the Assembly Area or During Shelter-In-Place:

  • Conduct a Roll Call:
Upon reaching the assembly area, a roll call should be taken to account for all residents and team members. Report any missing individuals and their last known locations to the Evacuation Coordinator.
  • Include Non-Residents:
Ensure that any vendors, suppliers, or visitors on site are also accounted for.
  • Follow Emergency Services Directives:
Adhere to instructions from emergency personnel and supervisors. Remain in the assembly area until it is safe to re-enter buildings, relocate to another safe location, or return home.

Off-Site Shelter:

  • Designated Shelter Location:
If circumstances require an off-site shelter, please proceed to the designated location at Harbor Side on the southwest corner of Bellair Rd.

Final Thoughts

Preparation is key when facing emergencies. By familiarizing yourself with these evacuation procedures, you can ensure your safety and help maintain order during unexpected situations. Always remain vigilant, follow the designated routes and instructions, and be proactive in preparing for potential emergencies.
